As the current situation stands; he is in the process of opening up a bank account at Bank Millenium which hopefully will do business with him as Santander will not. With some luck there will be a bank account and the funds from Santander can be transferred.
Why cant he transfer to a German account?
Anyway forget Millenium or any traditional bank in Poland.
For his needs he should go straight to Citi, its only 200m from the original WBK branch.
The latest news i've received was that at the moment there were attempts to get an account at these 4 banks: PKO, mBank, Millennium, Citi and Alior. Unfortunately they all rejected the request. I'm not sure why but I can make an educated guess.
The process is now currently ongoing with 2 other banks. I hope to hear more soon.
Current status is that out of the 2 other banks only BNP is in the race. I believe Simon plans on visiting the bank himself (which already has been his ambition since beginning of 2020 as far as I know) but needs to be vaccinated first in order to not be placed 10 days in quarantine.
Thanks as always for the short update. But it just sounds like yet another excuse to me - for how long is he planning to draw out this particular excuse of needing to get vaccinated and avoid quarantine?
That's a weak one, even for Simon, while he's continuing to live off the money he stole.
As it currently stands, BNP might be a serious candidate for a bank account; read: it hasn't been declined (yet?) and it seems he passed all checks (for now?). You might notice I am a little bit reserved as this isn't the first time the situation looked more hopeful to only collapse moments later.
When this is official I'll send out another mailing.
So after a few more months, documentation has been sent and also apostiled. Naturally there were reasons for more documentation which also had to be apostiled... I didn't think giving an update about that would add any value.
As it currently stands; all documents have been received and are being reviewed by the account manager at BNP bank and a response should hopefully be given shortly. When there finally is a bank account; I'll send it out through another mailing as I said before.
How long has it been now that he's been "trying to open a bank account" (while living from the money/BTC he stole)?
Fun fact: As some of you probably know, the next company that Simon got involved with was Coinfalcon. The former owner of that site (Jordan Steeves) previously claimed [1] that Simon was just hired as a developer (he was actually their CTO). That company now appears to be essentially inactive, with numerous bad reviews on various platforms about stolen/missing/delisted coins [2].
Guess who's now listed as the director of that company since February 2021 [3]? That's right - Simon. Does anyone else see a pattern here?
